Weekly deals: Amazon’s best smartphone deals in Germany, US, UK and India

The Black Friday craze is behind us, so now we can go back to regularly hunting for deals – it never hurts to check it out, even if it’s not a big shopping spree . Here are the best Amazon deals we’ve picked for Germany, US, UK and India.

Germany Germany

Apple rarely offers discounts, especially on current models. However, you can save a few euros by switching to another dealer. For example, a 128GB iPhone 14 Plus costs €1,080 on Amazon Germany, if you take the black one. On Apple.com, that same unit will set you back $1,150. If you opt for a 512GB in blue, you can save even more – Amazon will charge you €1,333, Apple will charge €1,540 instead.

Apple iPhone 14 Plus

You can also get 5% off the smaller iPhone 14 – the 128GB model is £45 cheaper at Amazon than at Apple itself. The 256 GB model is €71 cheaper than on the official store.

Carl Pei might be an Apple fan, but he’d rather you got the Nothing Phone (1) instead. As with iPhones, Amazon Germany charges a lower price than the official store – €450 for an 8/256GB unit. If you check on Nothing.tech, you’ll see that even the 8/128GB version is slightly more expensive. , €470.

The Realme GT2 Pro is an early-year flagship, which means a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. Still, a 6.7-inch QHD+ 120Hz LTPO2 AMOLED display, plus a pair of 50-inch cameras MP and a 5,000mAh battery with 65W fast charging can be yours for just $100 more than the Nothing phone.

The Sony Xperia 5 IV is a pretty unique phone, but in typical Sony fashion, it costs a bit more than many are willing to spend. A $200 discount off the original $1,000 price makes it more palatable and more competitive with world galaxies.

Speaking of which, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is down to $900 for the base 8/128GB model. The Ultra is on the other side of the size spectrum though, but it has better telephoto lenses than the Xperia 5 (which lacks the Xperia 1 IV’s variable telephoto lens) and supports a stylus, if you’re into that sort of thing.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra

You can accessorize the Ultra with the Galaxy Watch5 Pro Golf Edition. The difference from the regular version is the dual tone band and some preloaded features to help you on the greens.

Samsung Galaxy Watch5 Pro

The Samsung Galaxy Watch5 also has a Golf edition. Currently, the Regular Edition and the Golf Edition cost the same, $260, for a Bluetooth model. You can have the regular version with LTE connectivity for $290.

The Motorola Edge+ (2022), aka Edge 30 Pro in some parts of the world, isn’t even a year old yet, but it’s already half its original price. $500 buys you a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, which comes paired with 512GB of storage and a 6.7-inch 144Hz FHD+ AMOLED display suitable for gaming.

UK UK

Amazon UK has a few affordable Galaxy 4Gs. The Samsung Galaxy A23 has a spacious 6.6-inch screen – a 90Hz PLS LCD with FHD+ resolution – and a decently sized 5,000mAh battery (with 25W charging). The Snapdragon 680 isn’t the fastest, but it’s efficient, the phone got 130 hours of battery life in our tests.

Of course, an aging parent doesn’t need FHD+ resolution. For half the price, the Galaxy A04s offers a 6.5-inch HD+ display (still a 90Hz PLS LCD) and a slower Exynos 850 chipset. It still has a 5,000mAh battery, even though it only charges at 15W.

The next two offers fall into the “old but golden” category. The Asus Zenfone 8 will start receiving its Android 13 update in January and this could be its last major OS update. That said, it costs £256 less than a Zenfone 9 and is about as small as the newer, more powerful model.

The other option is a Google Pixel 6 Pro. This one will get longer software support – three OS updates (one down, two coming) and five years of security patches since launch. Even though it’s a year old, it’s still better support than what you get from some Android manufacturers.

The Xiaomi 12 Pro was replaced by the 12S Pro, which upgraded the original Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset to the 8+ Gen 1. The plus version is undoubtedly better, but there are some issues. First, the 12S series was never launched in India. Second, even if it did, it would cost more.

Xiaomi 12 Pro

The OnePlus 10R is in the MediaTek camp with a Dimensity 8100-Max. It also has a 6.7-inch FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED display and a large 5,000mAh battery – this unit is the 80W version, which charges slower than the 150W, but no will call for a 1-100% charge in just over a ‘slow’ half hour.

Indian carriers started rolling out their 5G networks earlier this year, but 5G phones can be pricey. The Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G will connect you to the new network (thanks to the Snapdragon 695 chipset) while allowing you to take 108MP photos that you’ll view on the 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED display (120Hz).

Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G

Not in 5G? The Redmi Note 11 saves you money. The phone isn’t quite as capable as the Pro+ and has a smaller 6.43-inch 90Hz AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 680 with less memory, and a basic 50MP main camera. On the plus side, it has a large 5000mAh battery (126 hour battery life) and an included 33W charger.

The iQOO 9 SE packs the older Snapdragon 888 and a 6.62-inch FHD+ 120Hz display. We wish the 4,500mAh battery was bigger, but at least it’s quick to charge at 66W (full charge in 39 minutes in our tests, but it hits 91 per cent in 30 minutes).

iQOO 9SE

There’s also the iQOO Z6 44W, which yes, supports 44W fast charging for its 5,000mAh battery. This uses the Snapdragon 680 and a 6.44-inch (60Hz) AMOLED display.

Finally, something affordable, the Tecno Spark 9 is in the Under ₹10,000 category and has a large 6.6-inch screen (HD+, IPS LCD, 90Hz) and a 5-bit battery 000mAh. The Helio G37 isn’t particularly powerful, but having 4GB of RAM (and 64GB) of storage means it can run full-fledged Android 12 (there’s no shortage of Android Go devices in this price range).
